Modifications of the gradient method and the regression approach, as applied to the detection of contours during computer processing of video information are considered. Some parameters of the adopted models are evaluated and, the comparative effectiveness of the indicated methods during the detection of the contours of sets is demonstrated by the computer processing of photographs of cotton fields and of a section of the surface of the Moon.
