Multivelocity component structure in the zeta Oph interstellar spectrum has been investigated by fitting theoretical profiles to available high-velocity resolution Na I, Ca II, and K I profiles. Evidence is presented for variable depletion of Ca, Ti, and K with respect to Na, with more severe depletion in the stronger velocity components. Effects of explicitly considering the velocity structure in constructing curves of growth are discussed. Either of two models for the distribution of interstellar absorbers toward zeta Oph seems consistent with the data. One model includes significant contributions to the lines of some elements by the H II region toward zeta Oph, while the other calls for severe variable depletion among the neutral-region velocity components.
