From February 1973 to February 1974, the Prognoz-3 satellite observed three cases of the injection of electrons with energies exceeding 6 MeV into the outer radiation belt. The maximum of the spatial distribution of these electrons corresponded to L = 3.7, and the maximum flux density was 10-100/sq cm-s-sr. The recorded events occurred after the magnetospheric disturbances of February 21, March 19-25, and April 13-22, 1973. The most intense storm (April 2, 1973) led not to the injection, but to the ejection of electrons.
