The Prognoz-7 plasma spectrometer recorded the spectra of solar wind heavy ions during December 10-13, 1978. The heavy-ion spectra were characterized by low velocity, high concentration, low proton temperature, and even lower alpha-particle temperature. An electrostatic analyzer identified O-16(6+), O-16(7+), Si-18(7+), Si-28(8+), and Si-28(9+) ions as well as iron-group ions from Fe-56(6+) to Fe-56(13+). The obtained spectra are used to determine solar corona temperature.
