The author explains the kinematic behaviour of the stars of the solar neighbourhood supposing the superposition of two stellar populations. She considers both populations governed by a gravitational potential, stationary, with cylindrical symmetry and separable, which led her to impose conditions to the total distribution function. The superposition of the well-known stellar populations I and II, both governed by two simple distribution functions of Schwarzschild, explains satisfactorily the parameters observed in the solar neighbourhood.
