A catalog of 16,522 observations made between April 24, 1984 and March 25, 1986 has been compiled for the Isaac Newton Telescope by reading the descriptors of the images of about 400 tapes in the archive. The principal statistical conclusions from the observations are summarized, and a number of questions are addressed which bear on the planning and scheduling of observations; on the design of software, instruments, and new telescopes; and on access and analysis of observation archives.
