A physical mechanism for the formation of massive turbulent nuclei in superclouds is considered. In a self-gravitating cloud with a central density exceeding a certain value, the internal layers rapidly cool and a cold dense nucleus forms. It is shown that, after cooling, the turbulent nuclei of superclouds acquire characteristics typical of giant molecular clouds. The characteristics of large star-formation regions, giant H II clouds, and giant star complexes are discussed on the basis of the results reported.
