A very general least squares algorithm for the retrieval of the shape of
an object from images blurred by an arbitrary, and only partly known,
point spread function was applied to a simulated scan of an optical
lunar occultation. Although a dynamical smoothing is included in the
algorithm to suppress the noise, an excellent resolution is achieved.
