High dynamic range observations were made at 6.2 and 2.8 cm wavelength of 3C 84 (NGC 1275, Perseus A) with the 100-m Effelsberg radio telescope. The 6.2 cm map shows the asymmetric 5 arcmin halo previously detected only at longer wavelengths. The steepening of the spectral index of this halo from north to south across its western extension is confirmed. In addition, a low upper limit can be set for the halo emission at 2.8 cm wavelength. Some consequences of these observations are discussed.
