It is shown that extended globular clusters with core radii greater than 3 pc have a luminosity function which differs at the 99% confidence level from that of more compact galactic globulars. It is speculated that extended globulars, which comprise nearly 15% of the galactic cluster population, might be distantly related to dwarf spheroidal galaxies.
