Transient Lunar Phenomena

Most of the Transient Lunar Phenomena (TLP) observed are still an open problem for the lunar observers. After a brief statistical introduction to the TLP, an overview of the possible physical causes is given and a simple mathematical model for a specular TLP is developed. The final result of the model is a table with the Moon areas potentially favourable to specular TLP versus the age of the Moon. An approach for the search of specular TLP based on the observation of polarized light is also proposed.
