Physical and chemical properties of ionized gas regions in active galactic nuclei have been frequently investigated by using photo-ionization models. We describe our attempt to make a new multi-zone photoionization model for narrow-line regions in active galactic nuclei and to explore its advantages over other proposed multi-zone photoionization models observationally.
