The authors recalculated the virial mass of the open cluster M11 using the proper motion data of McNamara et al. (1977). The average distance between cluster members is found to be 1.3 pc and the corresponding virial mass of the cluster 5094 μ_sun;, which is in good agreement with the observed mass, 4671 μ_sun;, recently obtained by Mathieu (1984), the virial coefficent being 0.9.
