After showing that the origin of Galactic magnetic fields cannot be explained by the primordial field theory, I present the general dynamo theory in which the large-scale magnetic field is amplified under the combined action of the large-scale differential rotation and small-scale cyclonic turbulent motions. I then write down the Galactic dynamo equation, interpret it physically, and describe the main properties of its numerical solutions.
