Telescopes: History Of Astronomy

Scientific paper

In 1852, a telescope stood on Wandsworth Common in London. It was the
brainchild of one man, the Reverend Mr. John Craig, vicar of Leamington
Spa, ant it represented the biggest refracting telescope in the world at
the time. The only problem was, it didn't work very well.
