We present photometric observations of the GQ Mus at quiescence which
reveal a strong orbital modulation. We also discuss recent spectroscopic
observations which reveal a very short orbital period. On the basis of
the results, we argue that the system belongs to the class of magnetized
cataclysmic variables.
