We plan to measure the image location for each of the MAMA imaging mo= des, with respect to the CCD frame, as well as the geometric distortion in the = NUV MAMA, using the same field as did the SMOV STIS/MAMA PSF test {# 7080}.= In order to fix the detector coordinates for the STIS MAMA imaging mo= des with respect to the CCD coordinates, and hence to the FGS system, we need = to obtain an image of a reference star field in each of the 4 imaging modes, al= l at the same HST pointing. An incomplete set of such data were obtained durin= g SMOV, but this data set suffers from the need for several corrections and insuf= ficient information is available for one of the modes {MIRCUV}. Furthermore, = the series of images obtained with SMOV program 7132 to determine the MIRNUV geo= metric distortion suffers from poor image quality due to the incorrect apert= ure/filter selection. This proposal obtains sufficient data, when combined with = the SMOV data, to properly determine the distortion, plate scale, orientation = and image location for each of the MAMA imaging modes.
