The two forbidden lines [FeII] and [SiVI] have very different critical densities and would be expected to originate from very different regions in a Seyfert galaxy nucleus. Groundbased observations of these two lines have displayed a surprising range of line widths with each line showing both narrow and broad components. NICMOS can test whether much of the emission originates in the narrow line component and how much comes from the broad line component.
