According to the results of the preliminary analysis of the magnetic field data of Vega 1 a weakly detectable bow wave was observed at the distance of ≡1x106km (inbound) and ≡450x103km (outbound). Both Vega SC penetrated the diffuse contact surface or cometopause at the distance (50 - 20)x103km from the nucleus. The enhanced magnetic field of 75 - 80 nT observed inside the cometopause indicates the solar wind magnetic field penetration into the outer cometary ionosphere and the field rotation inside the ionosphere may be a result of the observation of the preceding interplanetary magnetic field having penetrated into the cometary ionosphere.
