The spectra of energetic particles accelerated diffusively by spherically expanding shock waves are investigated by the time dependent Monte Carlo method. Results show that the resultant spectrum strongly depends on the motion and distribution of scattering centers and history of particle injection. Thus certain conditions should be satisfied in order to realize the universal power law spectrum by diffusive shock acceleration of energetic particles.
