The propagation of linear waves in the magnetic flux tubes which exist in astrophysical objects is discussed. Solar prominences, particularly the chromospheric spicules are emphasized. In order to investigate the propagation of linear waves in the cylindrical layer of the magnetic flux tube, which is homogenous along its axis, the dispersion relations are obtained. When studying the propagation of linear waves in the isolated magnetic flux tube, which is inhomogeneous along its axis, the lower boundary for wave frequency which passes through the tube, is found. The spicule appearance mechanism is suggested.
