The author has obtained high-dispersion coudé spectra in the spectral range 3500 - 5000 Å of the variable stars AG Car and HDE 269852 and of three LMC stars which have been classified as Ofpe/WN9. It is shown that all five stars have similar spectra in the wavelength range considered. He II 4686 emission is found for the first time in AG Car. The LMC star HDE 269852 is probably an S Dor variable. A second object in the Galaxy (He 3-519) which may be related to the Ofpe/WN9 stars and which, like AG Car, is surrounded by a ring nebula is briefly discussed. The suggested relationship of AG Car to the Ofpe/WN9 stars makes it plausible that the circumstellar shells around Ofpe/WN9 stars in the LMC in general have similar size, and possibly also a similar origin as the ring nebula surrounding AG Car.
