We have developed an interface between the x-ray spectral reduction package XSPEC and the plasma simulation code Cloudy. We describe the types of emission and absorption models that can be fitted to observations and give an overview of the uncertainties inherent in the plasma calculations. We encourage feedback from the community to guide us on the types of models that will be fitted to future observations.
