We discuss the quality of the ground calibration of the AXAF CCD Imaging Spectrometer, one of two focal plane instruments aboard the Chandra X-ray Observatory (formerly known as AXAF). We use uncertainties in detector model parameters derived from fits to the calibration data to derive errors in energy scale, detector resolution and detection efficiency. We compare these uncertainty estimates to those obtained from the self-consistency of the calibration measurements. We estimate the contribution of ACIS calibration errors to uncertainties in Chandra measurements of astrophysical spectral model parameters.
