A change in the period of short-term brightness variations in Nova Cygni 1975 from September 1, 1975, to October 3, 1976, is studied. It is shown that the period of the short-term variations decreased markedly from 0.141 to 0.138 day between December 1975, when the nova's photospheric radius was roughly equal to the mean component separation (if the nova is a binary), and May 1976. Revised ephemerides are given, and it is suggested that the period variation from cycle to cycle is caused mainly by the superposition of rapid brightness variations on the regular periodic variations.
