Two spectrograms and a direct photograph of the galaxy NGC 6745 have been taken with the 6-m telescope. NGC 6745 is a peculiar object, with knots that form a ring-shaped structure embedded in a diffuse elongated envelope. Its distance is 65 Mpc (for H = 75 km/s per Mpc), the absolute photographic magnitude is -21.8, and the virial mass/luminosity ratio is 1.5 times the solar value. As NGC 6745 is isolated from other galaxies, its ring structure does not seem attributable to tidal action.
