We present observations of the 0.1--10 keV spectrum of Her X-1 during a consecutive main-on and short-on observation in June-July 1998, obtained with the LECS and MECS instruments onboard BeppoSAX. We perform a spectral analysis on the phase-resolved spectra and find that the phase difference between the soft (reprocessed) ~ 0.1 keV blackbody component and the hard power-law component does not vary substantially between the main-on and short-on observation. This results is consistent with a model of a precessing accretion disk where the reprocession occurs at (or near) the inner edge of the accretion disk, since the phase difference between these components is expected to be similar half a cycle later in the 35 day phase.
