I discuss the impact of cooling flows on the observable X-ray properties of clusters of galaxies. I present new results on the basic properties of cooling flows and examine their important effects on mass measurements and the observed luminosity-temperature relation for luminous clusters. Finally, I examine the relationships between cooling flows and metallicity measurements for clusters and discuss the role cooling flows may play in the formation of metallicity gradients.
