The mean latitudinal (corrected geomagnetic) variation of the F2 peak parameters hmF2 and NmF2 from midlatitudes to high latitudes along the noon-midnight meridian is determined for midwinter quiet time conditions using Isis 2 topside sounder data. Measurements were obtained in December 1971 during a 21-day period. Since variables such as local time, Kp, season, and solar cycle varied narrowly, it is thought that the mean results can serve as basic representations for the latitude dependence of the appropriate parameters. The accuracy of the hmF2 values is considered.
