The magnetospheres of slowly rotating, accreting neutron stars and white dwarfs are considered on the assumption that such compact stars have multipole magnetic fields of arbitrary order. Conformal mapping is used to determine the shape of the magnetosphere for a two-dimensional analog of spherically symmetric accretion and the magnetic-field configuration for the case of disk accretion. The two-dimensional solution is extended to a more realistic three-dimensional case.
