Low-dispersion, unwidened spectra of stars in the fields surrounding 20 X-ray sources were obtained by use of a transmission grating placed in the converging beam of the Cassegrain focus of the Cerro Tololo 1.5-m telescope. It was possible to see a number of spectral features which allowed one to classify the stars into broad spectral groups and to identify reddened early-type stars. Possible optical counterpart candidates were identified. For each observed field a numbered finding chart and a corresponding table of spectral types are given
