We present Charge Couple Device (CCD) VIc photometry for Berkeley 20, a heretofore unstudied old open cluster found approximately 2.5 kpc below the galactic plane. The data was gathered with both the KPNO 2.1 m and the CTIO 0.9 m during 1992 as part of an ongoing survey of old open clusters. Based on the best fits of VandenBerg's 1985 isochrones to the V, V-I color-magnitude diagram (CMD), we estimate an age of 6 Gyr, metallicity of (Fe/H) approximately equals -0.23 dex, (m-M)V approximately equals 15.0 mag and E(V-I) approximately equals 0.16 mag. It is one of the most distant clusters known at 8.4 kpc, and the current galactocentric distance champion at Rgc approximately equals 15.8 kpc. Its great distance below the plane poses difficult questions for any picture of disk formation and structure. There are several good candidates for blue straggler stars.
