Consideration is given to a quantum, massless scalar field minimally coupled to the Schwarzschild-De Sitter space-time containing both a cosmological and a black-hole horizon. A gravitationally collapsing body in two dimensions is investigated, and it is found that during late stages of collapse the shell thermally radiates particles with an effective temperature proportional to the surface gravity of the incipient black hole (Hawking radiation). Results are also generalized to four-dimensional space-time. For the quantization problem in the presence of a past event horizon, energy-momentum tensors are constructed with respect to the nonequivalent vacuum states, and the physical meanings of the tensor are discussed.
