The first servicing mission to the Hubble Space Telescope in December 1994 was an enormous success; the crew of Endeavor made five strenuous days of replacing gyroscopes, solar arrays, and scientific instruments look easy. Subsequent images from the WFPC2 and the FOC plus COSTAR showed that the spherical aberration in the HST primary mirror was fully corrected. The images from FOC now exceed NASA's original, conservative specifications for HST image quality. Images and spectra from the FOC, the FOS, and the GHRS are providing new insights into a host of problems ranging from the frequency of white dwarfs in the cores of globular clusters to the presence of ionized helium in the Intergalactic Medium. We will discuss these and other new results obtained with the COSTAR corrected instruments.
