Conclusions about the relief of the surface of Venus and the amount of dust on it were drawn on the basis of the results of optical measurements carried out during the descent of the Venera-9 and Venera-10 landers. The downward flux of scattered solar radiation at the surface and the albedo of Venus soil versus wavelength in the 0.5- to 1.1-micron region were determined.
