It is concluded that two attempts to extend the Stroemgren uvby system
to late-type, metal-deficient giants show systematic differences,
especially in the c_1_ index. For these stars, calibrations of uvby
photometry should be applied with care, although the available
calibrations only depend weakly on c_1_.
