A method is developed for the study of the motion of a small planet under the influence of both Jupiter and Saturn. This method is based on the existence of periodic orbits of the planetary type for the sun and the planets Jupiter and Saturn, with their actual masses. The obtained periodic orbits for the fourth body (massless planet) are with respect to a rotating frame and the small planet moves in this rotating frame under the gravitational attraction of the three main bodies, i.e., the sun, Jupiter and Saturn. The stability characteristics of this orbit are compared to those of the corresponding periodic orbit of the restricted 3-body problem, obtained when the effect of Saturn is neglected.
