650 days before Pataki and Kolena have observed the 1612 MHz flare of U Ori in 1974 November, the light curve of this star was shifted by about 2 magnitudes above its usual mean value for each phase. The lifetime of both increases of luminosity and 1612 MHz radio flux is about 550 days. This correlation seems to confirm that the OH emission on the satellite line is due to a perturbation which propagates throughout the stellar atmosphere.
