AGILE has been detecting during the last 3 days an increasing gamma-ray flux above 100 MeV from a source positionally consistent with the blazar PKS 0402-362 (RA: 04h02m02.5994s, Dec: -36d13m11.947s). Integrating from 2010-03-13 12:00 UT to 2010-03-16 15:00 UT, a quick-look maximum likelihood analysis yields a detection at a significance level of about 5 sigma and a source flux of about F=(2.2 ± 0.8) x 10-6 ph/cm2/sec (E > 100 MeV).
