HCO^+ (J=1-->0) and CS (J=2-->1 and 5-->4) data are presented for the molecular cloud centred on IRAS 0038+6312. The central and non-central line profiles are fitted using Stenholm's core-saturation, comoving frame technique to the emission from the inner regions of a model cloud of radius 2.1 pc. The asymmetric nature of the HCO^+ and CS (J=2-->1) line profiles suggests a collapsing cloud with density and infall velocity increasing towards the centre as r^-3/2 and r^-1/2 respectively. Some turbulence is also necessary in order to fit the approach to symmetry of these lines further out from the cloud centre. The kinetic energy associated with the infalling material in the model cloud is approximately 100 times greater than the energy of the outflow associated with this source.
