The X-ray and optical instruments onboard XMM-Newton performed two separate observations of the dwarf nova OY Carinae: a 54-ks exposure during decline from outburst and a 20-ks exposure five weeks later. In the longer exposure ten sequential eclipses were covered. This is the first observation of OY Carinae that includes the 2--10 keV X-ray band and simultaneous UV and X-ray data. We present soft and hard X-ray light curves, X-ray spectra, UV light curves, and low resolution optical and UV spectra. Deep eclipses are observed in both the X-ray and ultraviolet light curves. We discuss the X-ray eclipse profile and the constraints that this places on the location of the X-ray emission. Multi-temperature emission is required to explain the X-ray spectrum.
