The great success of the Rossi X-Ray Timing Explorer (RXTE) has given us a new probe to study strong gravitational fields, to measure the physical properties of black holes and neutron stars, and to monitor a wide class of x-ray sources on time scales from years to milliseconds. In this workshop, we discuss potential ``next-generation'' x-ray timing missions, focusing on the science which will be possible with a factor of ten increase in collecting area over RXTE and with an all-sky x-ray monitor with greatly improved sensitivity and angular resolution.
