Recent advances in astrochemistry have identified more than 100 molecules and ions in space, some of them with more than ten atoms. One of the most significant molecules yet to be detected, but thought to be detectable, is glycine (NH2CH2COOH). It is an important molecule because it is the simplest amino acid and one of the building blocks of life. There have been numerous unsuccessful searches to date. The main problems are that the lines are weak and typically confused by other spectral lines. However, most searches have concentrated on the 3mm band where spectral line density is the greatest. Also, searches have been towards sources that show little or no evidence for important glycine precursors. We intend to search the less confused 12mm band with Mopra towards NGC6334I, which previous observations suggest does have the necessary precursors.
