The Chandra X-ray Observatory observed the nearby faceon spiral M33 in July-August 2000. We present spatial/spectral cuts of the Chandra ACIS-I data and give a preliminary estimate of the luminosity function of the point source components and provide a provisional list of identifications for the bright sources together with example X-ray source spectra.
