We have used the 2 Micron All-Sky Survey to produce an extremely uniform
galaxy catalogue down to low galactic latitude. Spectroscopy is nearly
complete for a sample of galaxies brighter than K=11.25. Due to its
completeness, uniformity and high object density, this survey elucidates
nearby low-latitude structures better than any previous work.
