The Lockman Hole (a high-latitude region of extremely low Galactic H I column density) has been a favorite target for deep studies of the cosmic soft X-ray background for 15 years. Hundreds of kiloseconds of effective exposure have been collected by ROSAT over a time span of years. Here, we present an analysis of the X-ray variability properties of the many bright AGN in this field on time scales ranging from hours to years, based on an analysis of archival ROSAT data. These AGN have a typical redshift of z ~ 1.
