Celestial Mechanics: Mean Motion Resonance, Secular Resonance, Earth-Like Planets, Planetary Systems (Gj 876, 47 Uma)
Scientific paper
The numerical simulations to investigate the Earth-like planets in the GJ876 planetary system is performed. It shows that the secular resonances?1 and?2 (respectively, resulting from the inner and outer giant planets) can excite the eccentricities of the Earth-like planets with orbits 0.21AU ? a < 0.50AU and render them eject out from the system in short time. However, in a dynamical sense, the potential zones for the existence of Earth-like planets are in the region 0.50? a AU ? 1.00AU, and there exist all stable orbits last up to 105yr with low eccentricities.
