FOR orbiting astronomical telescopes and photometers, interference
filters and the Fabry-Perot interferometer have considerable advantages
in luminosity, speed of recording and compactness over prism and grating
instruments1-3. Thus it is important to extend the range of
multiple-beam interferometry into the vacuum ultraviolet.
