Nearly eight months after the International Astronomical Union demoted Pluto from planet status, the state legislature of New Mexico has declared that Pluto is a planet, naming 13 March 2007 ``Pluto Planet Day.'' The resolution notes that Pluto has been called a planet for 75 years and that Clyde Tombaugh, who discovered Pluto in 1930, was a resident of New Mexico for much of his life.
