In order to confirm maser action in the ammonia (4,3) transition as predicted by model calculations, observations of several (N-15)H3 transitions are conducted in the direction of a compact HII region. The detection of (N-15)H3(4,3) emission led to the detection of all (N-15)H3 lines to examine the properties of the emission when it is thermally excited and to identify other masers. The (4,3) and (4,4) are theorized to be weak masers amplifying the HII continuum, and the (3,3) maser is found to be relatively constant over a period of several years. The simultaneous existence of the maser types is considered with respect to model calculations for collisional pumping and IR-pumping. It is proposed that the pumping of the maser by 10-micron continuum radiation can explain simultaneous masing and the unpredicted (4,4) masing.
